Blaster Master arrives in the Nintendo Download

This week’s Nintendo Download brings original titles like Siesta Fiesta and Wooden Sen’Sey, as well as a classic and fan favorite of many with Blaster Master.

One of my favorite games of all time on the NES, Blaster Master was something special when it launched way back when. The game features in and out of your vehicle play and plenty of shooting to do as you explore an underground world. Simply put, it’s great.

Be warned though, this is not the easiest of titles and definitely can try your patience at times… though, we are talking about an 8bit game here, so you probably could have guessed that. And other than Blaster Master, this week’s Nintendo Download also has a double dose of new titles with Siesta Fiesta and Wooden Sen’Sey.

Both games look to be of the simple-but-addictive variety and should satisfy those looking for a way to beat that Summer doldrums in this incredibly slow release month.

• Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS
  • Siesta Fiesta– Siesta Fiestacombines various elements of classic arcade game play – from brick-breaker to modern-day platformer – to create a truly unique adventure. Use the ball-like Siesta to smash Piñata Blocks, activate power-ups, battle bosses and trigger a host of wacky contraptions. Siesta Fiesta is available exclusively in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.   • Wooden Sen’SeY – Jump and grapple your way through exotic worlds, dodging obstacles such as fire, collapsing platforms, pits and whirring metal blades. If you want a real challenge, speed through 30 hair-tearing levels as quickly as possible in Time Attack mode and try to beat the developers’ times in each stage. • Virtual Console on Wii U

• Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS
  • Blaster Master – Jason, in search of his pet frog named Fred, has fallen down a manhole into a world of danger. Mutant-sized creatures he never imagined await him at every turn. In order to survive, Jason must pair up with an armored combat vehicle codenamed SOPHIA. It’s panic or perish as you blast through an endless maze of tunnels, seeking secret passages for an escape.
