Wade works through his Original Sin in Deadpool #29

Or, more likely, Wade has his Original Sin eat away at even more of his tenuous ‘sanity’.

This May, the shocking truth about Deadpool’s family comes to light in DEADPOOL #29 – an Original Sin Tie-In! And everything you thought you knew about the Merc With the Mouth is about to change.

Nobody knows the full story of Deadpool’s origin, or what happened to his family – even Wade himself. Manipulated at the hands of Butler and the brutal Weapon Plus program, Wade Wilson was transformed into the indestructible killing machine known as Deadpool.

But there is more to the story. Before being fully indoctrinated by Butler’s offshoot of Weapon Plus once and for all, all ties to Wade’s past had to be severed. Now, thanks to the energies of The Watcher’s all-seeing eyes, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Adsit and Preston have uncovered the terrible secret of Deadpool’s family. And the shocking truth about their fate will shake you to your core!

“Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn have struck a perfect balance in their run on Deadpool,” says editor, Jordan D. White. “They know how to bring the funny, but they’ve also been able to reveal the horrific trauma twinkie that lies just beneath Deadpool’s deep-fried batter exterior. To mix disgusting body metaphors in with that food metaphor, the particular scab that they’re peeling off with this story is covering a wound Wade doesn’t even know he suffered…and one that might just be too much for him to handle.”

What horrors lay in Deadpool’s past? And what will happen if they come to light? The earth-shattering truth about Deadpool’s family and their gruesome fate stand revealed this May in DEADPOOL #29!

Oh this is gonna be a bad one. You can just tell.

Wade is and has been a lot of things in the Marvel Universe and the fans love the character to no end, but there’s always been something going on behind the scenes of the man that is Wade Wilson. And it looks like that ‘something’ might not just be what happened to him in Weapon Plus.

What that could be is up in the air, but the inclusion of his parents and their ultimate fate is certainly telling. That cover shot kind of lends to the feeling that what went down might have involved Wade and something that he did. If that’s the case, the Original Sin just might be leading Deadpool into a state of being where he’s even more of a mental mess than he is now. Which’d be kind of scary.

See what happens to what’s left of Deadpool’s mind in Deadpool #29 (an Original Sin crossover issue) when it hits the racks this May from the team of Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn, and John Lucas.
