Shivah: Kosher Edition heading to PC and iOS

The remastered graphic adventure about a NYC Rabbi unraveling a mysterious death is on the way.

Rabbi Russell Stone has grown cynical and bitter as his synagogue’s funds and membership dwindle. He’s on the verge of packing it in when a congregation member dies under mysterious circumstances, leaving him a large sum of money. Can he accept the windfall and move on? His conscience says no. Step into Rabbi Stone’s shoes as he travels all over Manhattan to uncover the truth.

Now this is something different. I hadn’t heard of the original game, which was released back in 2006 by Wadjet Eye Games, but their remake looks pretty terrific for fans of old school adventure stuff. You also don’t see all that many games focusing on religious anything, let alone Judaism, so points just for that.

Wadjet Eye has a great track record too with games like Gemini Rue and Primordia under its belt. Shivah looks to be more of the same level of adventuring, just with a higher-definition coat of paint now that the studio’s bigger. Entrance is a pretty low priced affair too with the PC edition weighing in at just $3.99 USD right now thanks to a pre-sale over on Steam (it’ll also be available on GOG.com) that gets you 20% off the usual asking price. As for the iOS version, that’s even lower at only $1.99 USD.

Shivah: Kosher Edition will hit both platforms on November 21st.
