Fresh from Kickstarter, Divinity: Original Sin get a release date

After a successful Kickstarter campaign to get the game up and into development, developer Larian Games has finally settled on something of a release date for the RPG.

I say ‘something’ of a release date because it’s actually a release month that they’ve set as of now- the actual date will come later (hopefully). So far Divinity: Original Sin is set for release sometime in February of 2014, which is about five months from this writing.

The game follows some of the conventions established by previous games in the series and presents single or co-op action through it’s classic isometric viewpoint. Larian is also promising “rewards for exploration and not just powering through everything” and “deep character and talent development” for the title, which should make fans of RPGs in general pretty happy.

There’ll also be an editor in the game that will not only allow for level creation, but story creation as well. As good as Divinity: Original Sin is looking right now, that could mean incredible longevity with some expanded adventures for the game- and with an RPG, isn’t that kind of the point?
