Grindhouse goes to the circus in creator Victor Gischler’s upcoming killer carny comic.
“I wanted to write a comic that was like the baby of Russ Meyer and Quentin Tarantino on whiskey and meth, and Dark Horse was cool enough to let me do it,” stated writer Victor Gischler. “I wanted something that was grindhouse but simultaneously a parody of grindhouse. Clown Fatale is the result, and Maurizio and Moreno are killing it with the visuals.”
“The baby of Russ Meyer and Quentin Tarantino” sounds like the perfect description for Clown Fatale, a book that combines more than one over-the-top theme into a smorgasbord of violence… and face paint. Clown Fatale stars a group of female circus clowns who are mistaken for contract killers. Yes, really.
From there, the quartet goes on a wild ride filled with action that Gischler calls a guilty pleasure- especially when talking up both the art and color work of Maurizio Rosenzweig and Moreno Dinisio and the cover art by Tim Seeley.
“Tim’s covers also perfectly capture that grindhouse vibe. I’ve been having a great time pandering to my own base instincts. I think a lot of readers are going to file this one under guilty pleasure,”
And you’ll be able to file Clown Fatale when the first issue hits the streets on November 13th.
