From gameplay element to gameplay element, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is looking mighty impressive.
Some of what was in that video you may have actually seen before, but seeing all of the different areas and play mechanics in action -and all flowing together so smoothly- is really something to behold. Moving from an ‘on land’ mission into a seafaring chase and then into about three or four different variables as you go is pretty incredible.
I can’t get over the size of that map either. ACIV is easily the biggest Assassin’s Creed ever, but I think it just might be the biggest open world game ever- period. I was originally kind of put off by the focus on pirating too, but it looks like the tale of Edward Kenway might just be a very interesting one with a search for fortune and glory being more important to him than the Creed.
Interesting stuff. Expect to see a lot more on this one before Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hits the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on October 29th in the US. The game will also see release on the Xbox One and PS4, but you’ll have to wait just a bit longer for a release date on those since the consoles haven’t even been dated beyond ‘Autumn’ yet.
