DPI Merch reveals Gears of War: E-Day Lancer replica

Rev ’em up to take on the Locust horde, or at the very least, get a cool new decor item, with a new Gears of War: E-Day Lancer replica.

Hype is ramping up for Gears of War: E-Day. The soon-to-be released XBOX exclusive prequel to the iconic video game series is set to hit the console next month. When it does, it’ll bring a tale never before seen, filling some more gaps in the origin story of the series’ heroes.

Harkening back to classic Gears games too, the lead up to that impending launch has been something that we haven’t seen in a while. By that, we mean there’s been one heck of a blitz. Microsoft has gotten Gears of War into all kinds of spaces, even including WWE programming. Plus, the company has launched a series of special edition items. Among those, have been a mighty collector’s edition, a double dose of controllers, and… a new replica Lancer.

Just revealed today, the Official XBOX Games Studios Shop, powered by DPI Merch, will play host to that. And from the first peek at it, the Prototype Lancer Replica is looking like it might be one of the coolest Gears collectibles we’ve seen in a while.

Not that we haven’t seen Lancer replicas before, because we definitely have, but this one is altogether new. According to DPI Merch, the new Prototype Lancer Replica reflects the weapon’s look in the E-Day video game. So with that, you can expect weathering effects, six pounds of heft, and a 1:1 scale.

First released in 2006, the Gears of War franchise has since sold more than 40 million copies across five mainline entries. The Lancer has been the preferred weapon of choice for Coalition of Ordered Government soldiers, and wielded by every series protagonist. This prototype version of the Lancer features a bayonet, before the familiar chainsaw was added.

Engineers created precision molds directly from in-game assets to ensure every bolt, vent, and weld was accurate, with custom, hand-painted “E-Day” weathering effects. This full-scale reproduction of the iconic weapon weighs six pounds, measuring at 36” long by 14” tall and 8” wide, and comes with a custom display stand.
