Doctor Doom is coming to Marvel Cosmic Invasion

This fall will see Doom come for Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Tribute Games and Dotemu have revealed the brawler’s next DLC.

We’ve been covering a whole lot of Doctor Doom news lately, though we suppose that should come as no shock. After all, the next massive Marvel Cinematic Universe happening is right around the corner, and Avengers: Doomsday’s main foe is none other than the not-so-good Doctor. Aside from all the (sorta) tie-ins and collector figures though, there’s a video game to talk about.

No, we’re not gong back in time and talking about a game based on the movie, but nonetheless, The Siege of Castle Doom is coming up. Just revealed by Tribute Games and Dotemu, The Siege of Castle Doom isn’t a standalone title, but a new gameplay mode for Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

That’s right, a new mode. With that, we assume that Doctor Doom won’t be a playable character, and will instead be serving as the villain for whatever The Siege of Castle Doom might be. And before you ask, no, we don’t have a clue as to the mode’s content.

Nothing is official just yet, but even so, Tribute Games does have a history of supporting its beat ’em ups with unexpected expansions. If you’re not sure what we mean, you might want to take a look back at the DLC for the developer’s TMNT game.

Could The Siege of Castle Doom be something along the lines of Dimension Shellshock? We’ll see soon enough, as this downloadable addition for Marvel Cosmic Invasion will be released this fall. Oh, and did we mention that there’ll be two more playable superheroes landing along with it?
