While the property might be in a bit of flux right now, Star Trek will nonetheless be a major presence at Comic Con next week.

Star Trek warps to Comic Con

We have to admit that we’re not entirely sure what’s happening with Star Trek, as it heads into its 60th anniversary. The iconic property has had a bit of a rocky few years, in terms of fan feedback and show cancellations. Though we’ll add to that, that the currently airing Star Trek: Strange New Worlds seems to be doing well for itself.

The show first debuted in 2022, and stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike. Serving as a prequel to the original series, Strange New Worlds is about to enter its fourth season of action on Paramount+, on July 23rd.

In season four of the Paramount+ Original Series, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise – led by Captain Christopher Pike – embark on a series of thrilling and emotional adventures across the stars. As they journey to strange new worlds, they will battle inner demons and external threats, encounter colorful new characters, reunite with familiar faces and confront terrifying aliens. Through it all, they strive to embrace a bright, hopeful future.

Paramount press release

Just as the above is happening, the cast will be heading to Comic Con as well. That’ll be for a special panel presentation. Though it should also be mentioned that that’s very far from all that’s on tap for Trek, as goes SDCC.

Boldly going

Paramount is absolutely blitzing the Con with Star Trek this year. We’re not sure it can actually be overstated, as there’ll be a massive amount of events and happenings. That’s headlined by that panel, which will take place in Hall H, on July 25th, at 12:30pm pacific time. Look for the event to run a little over an hour, and wrap-up around 1:45pm. There’s a reason for the length too, as it’s going to be star-studded.

Mount, along with his co-stars Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, and others, will all be on hand for that. They won’t be alone either, as a cavalcade of classic Star Trek talent will be present too. Introduced by Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry himself, will be franchise luminaries like Michael Dorn, Robert Picardo, Cirroc Lofton, George Takei, and more. Even so, we have to admit that we’re a little bummed that William Shatner isn’t listed among those attendees. Can’t have everything, we guess.

Other than that main celebration of all things Star Trek too, there’ll also be a premier event. That will be for Strange New Worlds‘ season four. Hang on though, because that’s just the beginning. There’ll be Trek action at the Paramount+ booth, as well as the Paramount+ Lodge, a separate event.

Even that’s just the tip of the asteroid, as Trek will feature another panel with an activation spinning out of it. Both of those will focus on LEGO Group and Magic: The Gathering. The mobile game Star Trek Fleet Command will also get an experience, and if that’s not enough, the Con’s badges will be Trekked out as well. We said it was a big event for the sci-fi legend, and we weren’t kidding.
