Malum Caedo is back in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II, this time joined by Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath, as they take on hordes of new foes.
Boltgun II increases its bestiary
One of the best-received retro shooters in recent years, Boltgun is back. From Big Fan Games and developer Auroch Digital, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II is set to deliver what looks to be quite a bit more than its predecessor too.
That new content will partially come in the form of a new playable character. Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath will be joining Ultramarine Malum Caedo, on his crusade against the forces of Chaos. And that’s where the new reveals actually come in, as Boltgun II will be upping its menagerie of miscreants.
It looks like a number of old faces will be returning for this sequel, with the likes of Nurgle and Tzeentch daemons once again littering the battlefield. Of course, along with those Chaos creeps, heretics will be threatening the Imperium once again too. But as mentioned, those elements will both be bolstered this time around.
Fans can look for more Chaos factions, with both Khorne and the seldom seen Slaanesh taking part. And yes, there are more heretical Marines in the offing as well, with the Death Guard. Get a peek at all of the above in that new trailer, which we’ve got for you below.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 picks up where the first game left off, plunging players into a branching single-player campaign that fuses the grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe with a fast-paced retro FPS inspired by the best of the 90’s. Choose between Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath or Ultramarine Malum Caedo, wielding devastating new weapons as you charge into glorious battle, reducing heretics and traitors alike to heaps of pixelated gore. Each warrior offers their own unique weapons, abilities and playstyles.
Battle fan-favorite foes like the sassy Nurglings and Chaos Cultists, as well as all-new enemies. The ferocious Bloodletters and their bloodthirsty Juggernauts are just the beginning. Greater terrors await in the Emperor’s endless war.
Big Fan Games press release
While the title is looking sharp, Marines and Sisters of Battle alike will have to wait a little longer to actually play. There’s no official release date just yet for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II. When it does drop some time later this year though, you can expect to see it on the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
