Nightdive’s remaster of a classic FPS arrives this week. But first, get a look at Blood: Refreshed Supply in a special deep dive.
I live… again. Blood is back
First released in 1997, Blood pretty much instantly became a cult hit. There was good reason for its appeal too, especially for genre fans. The horror first-person shooter from Monolith and publisher GT Interactive played off of multiple classic films and properties, leaning into Lovecraftian themes, and iconic movies like the Evil Dead series.
There was one sequel for it, but that was kind of it for the series. This week though, the retro-masters at Nightdive will resuscitate Caleb and pals, with Blood: Refreshed Supply. Not a completely new game, but a remaster, Blood: Refreshed Supply will nonetheless include some new episodes. Yep, fresh Blood. One of those will be included at launch, with the second arriving some time afterwards.
While the base game drops in this week, Nightdive has posted a special advance look at it in action. That includes Dustin Twilley and Nick Palsmeier, the two who are behind both Marrow and Death Wish. Those are those new episodes we mentioned above, for the uninitiated.
Originally developed by Monolith Productions and officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Blood: Refreshed Supply modernizes the classic experience with up to 4K resolution and unlocked frame rates, local split-screen and online co-op for up to eight players, extended modding support, and two new mission scenarios: Marrow (available at launch) and Death Wish (arriving post-launch).
Nightdive press release
A first for a classic
The above is probably enough to get long-time fans pumped. But what about console players who might not have a PC? Are they to be… Blood-less? Well, no, as it turns out, as Nightdive will be bringing the game to consoles for the first time ever with this remastering.
It’s hard to imagine that a game as popular as Blood was never got a port. PC ports to the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and even the N64 were plentiful in the late 90s, but nope, this one remained PC-locked. Again though, that’s until Blood: Refreshed Supply arrives, which will bring the PC game in its complete form to the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

The new edition will come packed with everything mentioned above, plus some modern niceties. Fans can expect mouse, keyboard and controller support, plus split-screen and online multiplayer, the ability to switch between CD and MIDI quality tunes, and both classic expansion packs, with the Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage. All of that comes in addition to the visual bump that Nightdive fans expect. And yes, that will include up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS on consoles.
Blood: Refreshed Supply lands for all platforms in just a few days, on December 4th, 2025.
