Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood is coming back. And for those who love a good variant, some of Image’s biggest books will be onboard.

A line-wide variant-party

Well, okay, maybe it’s not going to be “line-wide”. But all the same, Youngblood’s return is setting up to be a big one for Image Comics. The iconic superhero book will be stocking its own lineup of variant covers, including some retailer-exclusives, but there’s even more on the way.

Just revealed by the publisher, Image Comics will be taking this re-debut across a good chunk of its line. In all, more than 20 variant covers will be out there to collect, featuring on books like The Walking Dead Deluxe #124, Geiger #19, and even Spawn #370.

“This has been the most humbling experience for me as a creator and the most exciting experience for me as a fan,” said Liefeld. “To see epic, legendary talents such as Gary Frank, Ivan Reis, Bryan Hitch, Dave Finch and way more than I can possibly name, depict Youngblood across all these incredible Image titles, is as thrilling as you could imagine. My thanks to Eric Stephenson and all the outstanding creators who stepped up to create these electric images. Youngblood has never looked so good!”

Eric Stephenson, Chief Creative Officer and Publisher at Image Comics, added: “Since the moment we first revealed that Youngblood was coming back, there’s been a surge of excitement among everyone at Image, so bringing everyone together to do a series of team-up variants seemed like a great way to ramp that up even more. A months-long celebration

With as many variant covers inbound as there are, Image is spreading out the window a bit. Fans will be able to find the hosting-titles throughout November, plus the first half of December. That stretches well beyond Youngblood #1’s street date, of November 5th.
