ROG Xbox Ally (and Ally X) his pre-order, coming in October

Xbox players looking to take their games on the go will be able to do so pretty darn soon. The ROG Xbox Ally hits stores next month.

The ROG Xbox Ally is a go

It’s almost here. ASUS’ next line of ROG Xbox Ally consoles will be along before you know it, now sporting an October 16th, 2025 release date. We already knew the units would be hitting this fall of course, though a press event last night cemented the actual date. And as you can see, it’s coming up in under a month.

As such, those who’d like to actually get themselves a ROG Xbox Ally X or ROG Xbox Ally, can get one locked up as of now. Yes, pre-orders are open, and via a number of retailers too. Some of those are already running dry, though reservations are still out there for both units as of this writing.

And before you order, you might want to get to know the differences between the consoles. The ROG Xbox Ally X is the more powerful of the two, even sporting an NPU, and has a price tag to match. That version clocks in at $999.99 USD, while the ROG Xbox Ally sports a tag of $599.99.

The ASUS shop, Best Buy, and Microsoft will all be stocking the former. The less-expensive unit will be found at a wider selection of retailers, with Amazon, Ant Online, ASUS Shop, Best Buy, Microsoft, and even Walmart all carrying.

Try your hand at tricking out that Xbox Ally

Along with the pre-orders above, ASUS has also unveiled a giveaway. And while it’s not one that could net you a ROG Xbox Ally, it’s pretty neat all the same. To get in on it, you’ll have to pre-order yourself one of the new handhelds via the ASUS Shop.

Doing so will get you the chance to enroll in the competition, and be in the running for a $500 prize pack. A carrying case, controller, dock, earbuds, and even an external SSD enclosure are all include in the deal. That’s not all, as ROG Elite Rewards members can register to be one of ten additional winners.

That secondary opportunity can net fans a ROG OMNI mascot figurine, available in either “OG (black)
or white”. You do have to be a ROG Elite Rewards member to get in on that specific giveaway, though registering is free. ASUS also adds that fans should keep an eye on ROG social media for the chance to win a ROG OMNI figurine.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • 1 ROG Strix Arion (external SSD enclosure; SSD not included)
  • 1 ROG Raikiri controller
  • 1 pair of ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova Gaming Earbuds
  • 1 ROG Bulwark (TV dock/USB hub)
