Youngblood #1 ‘retailer exclusive’ alt cover slate revealed

A ton of variant covers are on the way for Image Comics and Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood #1. A healthy dose of those will be retailer exclusive.

Youngblood’s explosive return

Rob Liefeld’s creation and one of Image Comics’ original super-teams is back. If you missed the news, Youngblood is returning to comics pages, and will be launching into a new series on November 5th, 2025. And when Shaft and the gang do make that triumphant return, it’ll be with a gaggle of variant cover possibilities. Some of those will depend on where you get your comics too.

While a more mass market variant slate has also been revealed, we now have the list of retailer-specific exclusives. And wow, are there a lot of them. The special editions include work from Liefeld himself, as well as talent like Tyler Kirkham, John Giang, Jimbo Salgado, Sajad Shah, and more.

“I’m simply blown away by all of it,” said Liefeld. “Not just the incredible enthusiasm from retailers, but the outstanding cover art that these amazing talents produced! I’ve never approved so many images at such lighting speed. Each cover that came in was of the highest caliber! What a thrill!”

The store exclusives join an already impressive list of variants, that includes some massive names. The likes of Skottie Young, Ryan Stegman, Daniel Warren Johnson, Ryan Ottley, and more are all on tap. Bottom line; you’re going to have a lot of options for how you want your Youngblood #1.

The whats and wheres

Being that we’re talking about retailer exclusives with Youngblood #1, there’s a host of different shops where you’ll be able to find one (or two). All of those stores have online presences, though some appear to be social media in nature. So will some of these Youngblood covers be available to order online? We’d imagine so, though we have no confirmation.
