PAC-fans get ready, because a fully loaded PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC is about to gobble its way onto consoles and the PC.
Can’t get enough of those sound effects
Just announced this year, the second PAC-MAN WORLD remake is just about ready for retail. The platformer will be making its way onto consoles and the PC this very month, but before we get to that, there’s a feature-PACked trailer to check out.
In this launch look at the game, publisher Bandai Namco has loaded up glances at everything that makes PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC new and different. That includes some new moves for the PAC himself, plus updated boss battles, a time attack mode, and Fairy Mode (easy mode).
That’s not all though, as legacy fans will find the original PAC-MAN, PAC-ATTACK, and PACMANIA all included as well, plus in-game collectible figures.
PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC modernizes the game play of the original while faithfully retaining its charm. Players can now perform new actions to take on foes including Super Butt Bounce, Ice Skating, Pac-Marine and more. They also get enhanced mechanics such as the Flip Kick and Snorkeling. A new Fairy Mode makes the game approachable for more players by making it easier to traverse platform puzzles and making Pac-Man impervious to certain hazards and attacks. Boss battles have been updated, and new bosses have been added to the game. An improved new Time Attack Mode lets players compete for global leaderboards by speedrunning levels. Additional features that add endless fun and replayability to the game include three classic PAC-MAN titles – the original PAC-MAN™, PAC-ATTACK™, and PACMANIA™ – available to play in the Village arcade as well as Gashapon machines where players can spend earned in-game coins for collectible figures.

PACking a September launch
As you can see from the above, quite a bit has changed for PAC-MAN WORLD 2 since its original release in 2002. The Re-PACed version of the platformer not only has a whole new look, but there looks to be quite a bit of fresh content as well. And some of that should make major alterations to the game, like the new moves for PAC-MAN and new bosses.
Fans of the little yellow guy won’t have to wait that long for any of it either. That’s because PAC-MAN WORLD 2 RePAC is bounding onto the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Switch 2, and PC (via Steam) on September 26th.
Pre-orders, as you can imagine, are open now, and deliver some goodies for those who buy-in early. Those come in the form of Ghost costumes for PAC-MAN, plus Team Ghost in-game figures. There’s also the Deluxe Edition of the game, which includes a host of bonuses, including a Sonic the Hedgehog crossover costume and accompanying stages, and the original PAC-LAND costume.
