One of the biggest games of 2024 is coming to the Switch 2, plus Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s expansion gets a first-look.
It belongs… on a Switch 2
Originally released on the Xbox Series X|S and PC, Bethesda’s Indiana Jones and the Great Circle brought the classic movie hero back to video games in style. The action/adventure took Indy around the globe, on the hunt for an ancient set of artifacts, while both looking and sounding great.
Since then, the title has headed to the PS5, but will now be making one more stop on its journey. Announced at Gamescom this week, Nintendo fans will be able to go on their own Indy adventure in 2026, thanks to the upcoming Switch 2 edition of the game. There’s no release date just yet for that port though, so stay tuned.
But that wasn’t all that was revealed at the big European show.
Expanding the Circle
Along with the Switch 2 reveal, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s expansion has also been detailed for the first time. From developer Machine Games, The Order of Giants downloadable-content will be coming up for all of the currently available editions of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on September 4th, and will send the archeologist on a fresh adventure.
Interestingly, the expansion takes place concurrently with the main game, and within the story’s Roman section. That should make sense, for those who’ve played the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s campaign. After all, The Order of Giants is all about the Nephilim Order. But although it’ll take place in Rome, don’t look for the grandeur of its streets. Instead, Indy will mainly be going into its depths.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants takes place during the events of the main game, when a young priest sends Indy on a perilous journey to find a mysterious artifact—and uncovers the secrets of the labyrinth-like Cloaca Maxima, the dark Cult of Mithras, and the myth of an enormous beast along the way. From foreboding crypts to the ancient River Tiber, players will visit stunning new locations throughout the city to the tune of a brand-new soundtrack as the adventure unfolds.
Bethesda press release
No ticket
Those who own the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, Collector’s Edition or Collector’s Bundle for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will have access to The Order of Giants when it drops on September 4th. Not to worry though, if you just have the standard version of the game, as you’ll also be able to buy in via a separate copy of the expansion.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is out now for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5 (and PS5 Pro), and PC. It’s also been a part of Game Pass since day one, and subscribers will still find it listed and ready for play there as well.
