QuakeCon highlights released, as convention returns to Grapevine, TX next week

With one big summer Con out of the way, another is about to kick off, as QuakeCon arrives in Texas on August 7th.

Quakin’ and shakin’

The time for ID Software (and really PC fans in general) to once again gather together for some gaming and surprises is almost here. The 2025 edition of QuakeCon launches into the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas in just a little over a week, on August 7th. If you don’t have tickets yet, both BYOC and Fan Tickets are still available.

The Con will run for four days, and Bethesda says it will include “BYOC community tournaments, Quake Champions Duel Open Tournament, Modern DOOM Speedruns, the Red Bull Gauntlet and Walk up and Play PC Lounge, the Sidequest Zone featuring Tabletop events and the QuakeCon ArQuade presented by Psychic Drive, and more.”

If you’d like to get a little bit of a better idea as to how all of the above will play out, we’ve got some handy little graphics for you. The below were shared by Bethesda late last week, and include daily highlights, as well as BYOC tourney times/dates, a partner list, and of course a look at this year’s pet-centric charity crossover tees. Before we get to those though, a couple of additional notes for you.

For one thing, BYOC won’t be just about bringing your PC to QuakeCon and playing. The sector of the show will include “the coolest names in PC products and peripherals in our Partner Space”. So if you’re in the market, there should be some neat stuff for you to check out. Along those same lines, there’ll be tabletop vendors in the Sidequest Zone. Oh, and finally, artists can apply now for the Con’s version of Artist Alley.

So all in all, QuakeCon sounds like it’ll be the place to be in the Lone Star State.
