Ready for a refresher on High on Life’s comedic action? It’s back on Xbox Game Pass now

Squanch Games’ way-out FPS High on Life is back on Game Pass, just in time to get players acquainted with its universe before the sequel.

But then I got High on Life

One of the weirdest first-person shooters maybe ever (and we mean that in a good way), High on Life was an especially big hit for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service when it first landed in 2022. According to developer Squanch Games, it was actually the biggest Game Pass release of that year, and the biggest third party release ever. So yeah, it made an impact.

And while the FPS has been absent on the service’s roster for a while, the universe it created certainly hasn’t been idle. It wasn’t too long ago that Squanch announced a sequel, which looks to present players with an even bigger and wilder time. Even so though, that original game still remains a standout in a genre that can sometimes get a little same-y.

That original adventure sent players on an intergalactic ride to free humanity from an alien cartel that was looking to turn our species into a drug (yes, really). And if you’ve yet to play it, or would just like to give it another spin before said sequel lands, have we got some good news for you.

Yep, High on Life is back on Xbox Game Pass. And we mean like, right now.

Fresh out of high school with no job and no ambition, you’ve really got nothing going for you until an alien cartel that wants to get high off humanity invades Earth. Now, you and a team of charismatic talking guns must answer the hero’s call and become the deadliest intergalactic bounty hunter the cosmos has ever seen.

Travel to a variety of biomes and locations across the cosmos, go up against the nefarious Garmantuous and his gang of goons, collect loot, meet unique characters, and more, in the latest comedy adventure from Squanch Games!
