Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. coming to consoles, plus get a sneak-peek at Wolf in the next VF

After debuting on the PC this year, the latest incarnation of Virtua Fighter 5 is making its way to the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Switch 2.

Enter the arena, on the go

If you missed the announcement, Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. brought the fighting game back to life recently on the PC. The fresh release improved upon what’s come before in some significant ways, including rollback netcode, rebalancing, 60fps/4K support. But naturally, publisher Sega isn’t going to leave console players out in the cold.

Just revealed at a Virtua Fighter direct presentation from the company, the game will indeed be making its way to set-top boxes. Sounding like it’ll be an identical offering, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will also include cross-play, so you can go head-to-head with fans on any other console platform.

You can look for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. to arrive for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2 at some point in the future. Just when that might be, we’re not sure of just yet, so stay tuned for more on the game down the line.

Furthermore, multiple additional content updates are currently in the works, with details to be announced at a later date.

Sega press release

The force of pain you can’t contain

As a little bonus to the above, Sega went ahead and revealed another returning fighter for the still-untitled next game in the Virtua Fighter series. While the title doesn’t have a name yet though, at least officially, we do know that longtime star Wolf Hawkfield will be bringing a little pro-wrestling style pain to its arenas.
