Activision is ramping up the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 hype train, and it’s set to deliver a rockin’ party, live from LA’s El Rey Theatre.
LA… El… Rey?
An iconic part of Los Angeles, the El Rey theater has been around since the 1930’s, welcoming in all manner of showbiz hullabaloo. And very soon, you’ll be able to add the likes of Tony Hawk to that list of glitterati, thanks to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. Publisher Activision will be going all out to celebrate the hotly-anticipated upcoming title, and that includes a shindig at the El Rey.
The show will be broadcast via Twitch, and will include a laundry list of talent from the game’s own soundtrack, including “Danny Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Adolescents, and Urethane”. Of course, that’s not all, as fans can also look for a secret roster of pro skaters to be in attendance, and for a helping of fresh details on the actual game itself.
And did we mention that the El Rey is going to be included in one of the game’s actual levels? So yeah, it all ties in.
Fans can tune in on Twitch for one incredible night packed with an interview with Tony Hawk and performances by legendary bands featured on the game’s soundtrack – Danny Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Adolescents, and Urethane – alongside pro skaters, reveal of NEW game details, and THPS vibes like never before, all coming together to celebrate Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 and the franchise’s impact on skate culture.
What makes this more fun, Activision and developer Iron Galaxy Studio meticulously recreated the famous El Rey Theatre in the Los Angeles level of the game. Players will also spot nods to California’s vibrant music scene, with Goldenvoice, the premiere California promoter and subsidiary of AEG Presents, and The Roxy, one of LA’s most storied and celebrated venues, featured on in-game billboards throughout the Los Angeles level of the game.
