Nintendo Download: Keeping Things Classy

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones arrives for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, plus Sunderfolk delivers unique turn-based action.

Getting mobile with some co-op

First off, we have to admit that we’re not really familiar with Sunderfolk. But although the turn-based strategy game hasn’t been on our radar, it’s looking mighty interesting. Turns out that the title, which just landed for the Switch, has a pretty unique gimmick, when it comes to multiplayer. Dreamhaven and developer Secret Door’s offers four player co-op play to that end, and we’re talking about couch co-op by the way.

You might be thinking that said co-op would simply be accomplished via a quartet of controllers, but that’s decidedly not the case. Instead, Sunderfolk uses players’ mobile device as the interface, by way of a separately downloaded app. How’s that for interesting new tricks in a Switch game?

On top of Sunderfolk, this week also brings yet another Game Boy Advance title back to life for Nintendo’s Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription service. That, as you’ve no doubt seen above, is Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. So if you’re in the mood for a little strategic JRPG(ish) action, you’re covered.
