The classic is back. Well, almost. Call of Duty Warzone‘s Verdansk is en route to the current version of the game, and arriving this Thursday.
Season 03 is go
We’re almost there, to the big return for Verdansk. If you’re wondering what that is, then you’re probably not a long time Call of Duty fan, since the map was the original home of Warzone, CoD’s free-to-play multiplayer ‘battle royal’ mode.
Verdansk first debuted in 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, before making the leap to Warzone for the mode’s launch in 2020. Since then, Verdansk has figured lightly into several mainline CoD releases, as well as Warzone Mobile.
This week though, marks the first time that it’s back in action for the main Warzone experience, and from the looks of it, it’s not quite the same Verdansk you might remember.
As you can see there, the new version of Verdansk has been completely rebuilt to fit with the current generation of Call of Duty. That reforging comes complete with a host of “quality-of-life improvements” as well, though from the looks of it, at its core this is still Verdansk. That means the map will include multiple battlefields and nonstop multiplayer action. Make those battles able to house up to 150 players, and you just might have yourself a pretty good time.
The original all-out warfare of Verdansk returns this week, on April 3rd for Call of Duty Warzone. If you’d like to read a ton more about its arrival, check out the Call of Duty blog.
