Creative Technology expands the Pebble line of speakers with the Pebble Nova

Creative blasts off with a new riff on the Pebble series of desktop speakers with the colorful new Creative Pebble Nova.

Go Nova

Are you familiar with Creative’s Pebble line? Small form-factor speakers meant for desktop or tabletop use, the Pebble features one of the most unique designs in the field, with a round shape and angled output that seeks to deliver “sound right to the user’s ears”. And if you like what’s come before for the Pebble, you might love what’s just arrived.

Creative Technologies says that this new set is “designed to impress”, and we can see why. Connecting via USB, Bluetooth 5.3, or a standard 3.5 mm AUX input, each speaker sports an RGB light ring at the bottom. Those are in addition to what look to be stands to raise them up, something that past models haven’t included.

On the technical side, the Pebble Nova tout a coaxial driver design, and align their woofer and tweeter. Creative says that this build provides “rich sound across the full audio spectrum”, though the company also recommends pairing the Pebble Nova with a SoundBlaster X5 (external sound card, priced at $279.99 USD) for “high-fidelity audio streaming that captures every detail”.

“The Pebble Nova embodies our commitment to enhancing the audio experience for users who demand quality and style. It’s not just another product; it represents the next step in the evolution of the Pebble family,” states Song Siow Hui, CEO from Creative.

As you might imagine the Pebble Nova also works with the Creative app, unlocking “access to the proprietary Acoustic Engine audio technologies”. Those include “Surround, Smart Volume, Bass, Dialog+, and Crystal Voice, enabling users to fully customize audio settings and RGB lighting to suit their individual preferences”, according to the company.

The Pebble Nova are available right now, and are priced in at $279.99 USD via Creative’s online shop. it looks like a white version might be on the way as well, though that’s not posted for sale at present.
