Classic action titles, Crystal Dynamics’ Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered is coming back this year from Aspyr.
Raziel is back
It’s been rumored for a while now, but it looks like you can take that tag off of the news now. And yes, the first two adventures starring the fallen vampire that is Raziel are indeed coming back. Just revealed officially, Aspyr is bringing the games back in conjunction with developer Crystal Dynamics, and in remastered form.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered will include both games with “higher-resolution textures, models and VFX, as well as a new photo mode, upgraded camera, new control options, improved performance and more”. From the first look at the titles in action, both are looking sharp as a fang.

Immerse yourself in a timeless story of vampires, betrayal and revenge as you traverse the hauntingly beautiful land of Nosgoth in higher fidelity than ever before. Aspyr press release
As mentioned above, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered features quite about more than just remastered looks. The games will have both classic and modern control schemes, plus a photo mode, achievements and trophies, and a “brand-new map and compass”, according to Aspyr.
Fans can also look for bonus materials to be included, allowing fans to explore an “interactive lore map, view never-before-seen concept art, and delve into environments from the fabled “Lost Levels.”” So from that, it sounds like there’s a mini-museum experience to check out in addition to the fan-favorite titles.
Players will be able to do just that, and dig into Soul Reaver all over again, when Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered hits the PC, Switch, and current PlayStation and Xbox platforms on December 10th, 2024.
