Black Ops 6 is on the horizon, but the Modern Warfare III era isn’t done quite yet, and the game will be going out with a scare.
Boo
Kind of a Halloweentime tradition at this point, The Haunting is back for 2024. The Call of Duty happening will deliver spooky multiplayer scares for the current crop of CoD titles, by way of the current game’s Season 6.
And that means fans can expect to see some creepy new characters like Michael Myers, Sam from the Trick ‘R Treat movie, and “cursed” versions of Valeria and Makarov from Smile 2. Those will all be arriving in The Haunting, along with the hideous Art the Clown from The Terrifier films, and even The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon, with both making appearances as BlackCell operators.
Characters aren’t all that the games will be getting either, as new modes will be en route as well, plus “Weapons and Aftermarket Parts”, and more.
Season 6 unleashes a terrifying lineup of Operators and introduces the killer-clown-themed Drive Thru Multiplayer map and six new map variants. Players can dive into the creepy Purgatory and Zombie Royale Limited Time Modes in Warzone and Warzone Mobile, enjoy free Rift Runs in Zombies, and arm themselves with new Weapons and Aftermarket Parts. Season 6 also features a fright-filled Battle Pass, a brand-new Warzone Mobile Multiplayer map, and much more.
To make The Haunting a more terrifying experience, players can step into the shoes of horror legend Michael Myers, Sam from Trick ‘R Treat, a cursed Valeria and Makarov from Smile 2, the chilling Art the Clown from The Terrifier, an especially grotesque mutant BlackCell Operator, along with Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead.
Activision press release
The big date is September 18th. That’s when Season 6 brings The Haunting to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
