It’s back. Well, in beta form “it’s back” anyway, as the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Multiplayer Early Access Beta is now open.
Start the insanity
A highlight on the year’s calendar when it comes to multiplayer gaming, we’re right on the verge of the new Call of Duty. Activision’s first-person shooter franchise is heading back to consoles and the PC with a new Black Ops adventure here in 2024, and it’s landing on October 25th. If you’ve been following the launch news too, you know there’s a multiplayer beta before it hits.
Actually, there are two of those, with the first being of the “Early Access” variety. And that very beta, believe it or not, is open right now. Yes, we’ve got some CoD action to dig into, but this first round is only for those who’ve pre-ordered the game (for any platform). The test began at 10am pacific today, and will run until its conclusion on September 4th at the same time.
Said beta can be downloaded via the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, Battle.net, or Steam, and it will require a beta code if you pre-ordered your copy in physical form. Alternatively, if you ordered digitally, you shouldn’t need anything extra to get into the action. Just make sure you download the beta on the platform that you ordered the full game for.
Again though, this is the early access beta that we’re talking about, and there is another taste of Black Ops 6’s multiplayer action coming up. That second drop will be an Open Beta, so if you can’t get in on this one, hang on because the next one is landing right afterwards. And we pretty much mean right afterwards. The Open Beta kicks off on September 6th, and will run through the 9th.
