SNK reveals new fighter for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, two new fighters for KoF:XV

The SNK vs Capcom news might’ve taken the majority of the headlines, but there was more SNK news going out of EVO this past weekend.

Awooooooo

Just this afternoon, we told you about the return of SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos. It’s pretty easily the most eye-catching news to come out of the EVO show this past weekend, since the re-release brings back one of the most beloved ‘versus’ fighters of all time.

But even so, SNK had more that just that game showcased at the big show/event. If you include the first footage of the Terry Bogard/Street Fighter 6 crossover, it was quite a bit more, but we won’t cover it again, as you can read about that first-look here.

As for the rest of the news, let’s start with one of the most hotly anticipated fighting games set for release next year, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. So far, we’ve seen only a few hints of news about the one-on-one battler, but that relative silence broke at EVO, with the reveal of Kevin Rian.

A SWAT officer in South Town, Rian joins the roster as a playable fighter in the game, and will be voiced by Jonah Scott for the English language version of the game, and Akihiro Sakata for the Japanese edition.

Kevian Rian is a SWAT officer and keeper of the peace stationed in South Town. With his trusty companion Marky in tow, this hard-hitting lawman scours the city’s streets in pursuit of the sinister Freeman—the man who murdered his best friend in cold blood. Kevin’s moves are inherently explosive, wildly energetic, and supremely effective; indeed, no perp has ever been able to walk away from them scot-free.

SNK press release

There’s no release date as of yet for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, so stay tuned. The game is expected to arrive some time in 2025 however, for current PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and the PC.

The King is still rolling

Yes, released back in 2022, King of Fighters XV is still alive and ready to welcome in a pair of new downloadable characters. Those would be a pair of female fighters with links to none other than Rugal Bernstein, called Vice and Mature.

Unfortunately, there’s no actual gameplay of either one, but there is a little teaser that’s just been launched, and you can check that out below.
