Bandai Namco outlines Tekken 8’s next DLC fighter, “The Warrior Prime Minister” Lidia

A Warrior Prime Minister? Hey, in the world of Tekken, that’s only a positive for any country. Lidia will land for Tekken 8 this summer.

Madam Prime Minister, we presume

One of the longest-lived modern fighting series’, Tekken’s wild world is right up there with other genre titles. That’s even more apparent in this year’s Tekken 8, which brings the King of Iron Fist tournament into an Earth that’s more or less under the thumb of the Mishima family. And with all of that in mind, a country having a Warrior Prime Minister is pretty much a far and away positive.

That’s Lidia Sobieska, a fighting politician who debuted in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, and now returns for more action in part eight. Or, that’s to say, she’s not quite returned just yet, but she will be crashing into Tekken 8 this summer.

Bandai Namco revealed a more detailed look at her at Combo Breaker 2024, “a flagship event dedicated to celebrating the fighting game genre.”

Lidia Sobieska will be the next playable DLC character coming to the game since it launched in January. Also known as “The Warrior Prime Minister,” Lidia debuted in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, an update to the game’s arcade version, and utilizes powerful Polskie Karate moves.

Bandai Namco press release

Again Lidia will expand the 32 character roster of Tekken 8 some time this summer, but there’s no firm release date for her just yet. She’s a part of the game’s new season of content, which has so far brought fan-favorite Eddy Gordo, and will include two more. Fans can look for those two mystery fighters to arrive separately, with one landing this fall and one this winter.

If you don’t have a copy of the base game yet, Tekken 8 is out right now for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
