Hi-Fi Rush blasts onto PS5 today

From Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks, 2023’s hit rhythm-action game Hi-Fi Rush is now available on the PS5.

Rushing to PlayStation

The latest game in the crossover initiative from Microsoft that’s bringing some Xbox titles to other consoles, Hi-Fi Rush has made the leap to PS5. A rhythm-action game that arrived in 2023 to quite a bit of critical and fan acclaim, Rush is “set in a colorful world where everything is driven by the beat of the music”.

The new PlayStation version is no stripped down launch either, as this new edition comes complete. Prospective players can dig into “all of the game’s post-launch updates and modes including the Arcade Challenge! Update!, featuring two additional gameplay modes: BPM Rush! and Power Up! Tower Up!”, according to Bethesda.

Hi-Fi RUSH stars wannabe rockstar Chai and a ragtag group of misfits battling against a megalomaniacal robotics corporation in a world where all the action syncs to the beat. Every strike, parry, dodge, jump and more syncs automatically to the music, allowing for gameplay that is not only exhilarating but also extremely satisfying. A player’s moves aren’t dictated by the music like in a traditional rhythm game — players have the freedom of a full action game. However, inputting moves with the beat amplifies the player’s attacks along with the music.

Bethesda press relase

Landing with its fully-licensed tracks from bands like Nine Inch Nails and The Black Keys intact, Hi-Fi Rush is out now for the PS5. As mentioned above too, you can also grab a copy via Xbox Series X|S and PC, and the game is a part of Microsoft’s Game Pass platform (not available on PlayStation… obviously).
