First person fantasy action arrives (officially) as Graven is out of Early Access

A dark fantasy FPS from 3D Realms and Fulqrum Publishing, Graven has finally emerged from Early Access with version 1.0.

Turn your spellbook to page 1.0

Continuing the rebirth of the fantasy-FPS, Slipgate Ironwork’s semi-retro title Graven has finally gone… final. And while you might’ve played it already thanks to the Early Access build, edition 1.0 is officially live, granting players the ability to rock through all new areas.

Included with the update is a refined opening Hub, plus the completely fresh Hub 2 (The Granite Watch) and Hub 3 (The Subnatural Desert). Want more? Well, good, because there are all new weapons, enemies, boss fights, upgrades, and more all ready for you to dive into as well.

And did we mention the 8 player co-op? Yeah, there’s that too.

Take the helm as an exiled Priest of the Orthogonal Order and embark on a mission of vengeance after witnessing his daughter’s sacrifice at the hands of a colleague-turned-heretic. Through divine guidance from The Creator, the disgraced priest must cleanse the Order of its corruption and save the world from the encroaching evils.

With little to his name but a magicked staff and a journal, the banished priest unleashes powerful elemental spells and wreaks havoc on the hordes of zealots impeding the way. Inspired by classic first-person shooters and fantasy RPGs, GRAVEN melds expansive exploration with fast-paced combat and intricate puzzle-solving for a satisfying and immersive gameplay loop.

Traverse through multiple open-ended areas, including a deteriorating swamp town known as Cruxfirth. Build up an arsenal of weaponry such as mounted crossbows, explosives, flails, and potent spells, each more capable than the last. Tackle side quests, uncover hidden secrets, and experiment with different weapon upgrades for creative destruction.

3D Realms press release

Graven 1.0 is out right now for the PC, via all three big storefronts (Steam, GOG, and Epic), and is on its way to consoles as well. Those versions will include PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as the Nintendo Switch, but won’t be along till some time “later this year”, according to 3D Realms.
