Marvel preps a Wolverine variant cover-slate for the Canuck’s 50th

Believe it or not, Wolverine will have been around for five decades in 2024, and you’d best believe Marvel is gonna celebrate.

Starting from a seemingly random issue of Hulk, and then exploding out of the pages of the iconic Giant-Sized X-Men #1, Wolverine has become one of the biggest players in the Marvel Universe. He’s a household name at this point and has been an X-Men anchor, a big part of The Avengers, and a key element across almost every crossover-event since the late-70s.

And for his 50th anniversary, which will kick off in 2024, Marvel will be celebrating that history. That will come by way of a the new Wolverine: Madripoor Knights series, plus a set of “special reprints, and a collection of variant covers. It’s a variant slate that’s based on classic Marvel covers, and is dubbed “Wolverine Wolverine Wolverine”. While that probably sounds like a weird name, it’s perhaps due to the fact that some covers have multiple versions of the Old Canucklehead.

Launching in January, the WOLVERINE WOLVERINE WOLVERINE VARIANT COVERS sees Logan take over the most iconic covers in Marvel Comics history, filling in as each and every character along the way! The covers gave artists the chance to spotlight their favorite Wolverine costumes, identities, and alternate versions, and also feature other members of the “Snikt Family.” It’s the perfect way to celebrate one of Marvel’s most ubiquitous and storied heroes and proves that there’s no such thing as too much Wolverine!
