Modern Warfare III is about to get an in-depth look via “NEXT”, but Activision couldn’t wait to show off some multiplayer action.
It’s a big week for Call of Duty
Oh my is it a huge week indeed for Activision’s premier shooter. First off, there’ll no doubt be plenty of stuff for CoD fans to check out at next week’s Call of Duty NEXT presentation. That show begins on Thursday, but before we get there, there’s something to see today too.
That would be the CoD multiplayer debut trailer. You can check that out right now, and get a little extra-pumped for what’ll be capping off the week, as that’s when the forthcoming PlayStation beta test arrives. The test opens for shootin’ business on Friday, as Activision makes sure all systems are go, for Modern Warfare III’s November launch.
Here’s a tease of what’s to come:
As you can see there, 16 classic maps from Modern Warfare 2 have been fully reborn for MWIII. If you loved ’em when the original game debuted, you’ll likely find even more to like now. That’s thanks to the revamped traversal mechanics, meaning you’ll be able to get to places in said maps that were impossible to visit/exploit before.
And of course, you’ll be able to play these neo-classics with all of the new kit and weaponry that Modern Warfare III will serve up. That’s not to mention either, all the stuff that’ll be making the jump from last year’s MWII, thanks to 2023’s version carrying across a lot of what fans gathered in that previous release.
So, just to wrap up, the beta kicks off this Friday, one day after NEXT arrives to dig deep into this year’s Call of Duty offering. The huge CoD week though, doesn’t stop there. Sandwiched between NEXT and the beta is Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E.) Bowl IV, so make sure you have some time to enjoy a little e-sports mayhem before you make some of your own.
As for the full game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III lands on consoles and the PC on November 10th, 2023.
