If you haven’t been paying attention to Sega’s release calendar, you might actually have overlooked Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. While the title is looking great, it’s actually the first of two “Like a Dragon” games that are inbound, with what will be the second one to release getting all the press til now. That, of course, would be the decidedly comedic Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
But while that game heads to the beaches for a little fun and sun to go along with its action, Like a Dragon Gaiden most definitely does not. A seriously toned action/crime epic, this November’s installment of the franchise is looking grim and gritty.
To clue fans in, Sega has produced a special Overview Trailer, which not only loads up on a detailed look at the story behind the action, but gets into the actual gameplay system. And as you’ll see, this is a title that’s set to give fans some options.
Once a legendary yakuza, Kazuma Kiryu faked his own death and abandoned his name for the sake of protecting his family. Now, he is thrust into conflict by a mysterious figure attempting to drive him out of hiding.
Under the codename “Joryu”, Kiryu embarks on a gripping action narrative with bone-shattering combat in vibrant locations filled with exciting characters and activities.
