Trailer: System Shock’s remake is finally live, and looking spectacular

Nightdive Studios’ long-awaited remake of the original System Shock is indeed here at long last, and it’s looking like the wait was worth it.

Attention meatbags

The System Shock remake combines the gameplay of the iconic original game with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface, and all-new sounds and music.

Nightdive Studios press release

While this is a full remake of System Shock, developer Nightdive has seemingly kept most of the classic title intact. You’ll still find a mixture of “stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry”, as well a both action and puzzle-solving in its campaign.

But on top of that, there are also new enemies to fight, as well as “a revamped hacking system”, and new “combat options”. And yes, that includes… dismemberment. Shodan won’t know what hit her.

System Shock is out right now for the PC, via Steam, Epic, and GOG.
