Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on the way to PC this July

PC players will be getting a mid-summer treat, courtesy of Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is coming up.

The rift is open

For a while now, Ratchet and Clank has quietly been one of the best action-platformers in gaming. The series has been a gem for Sony, and of course exclusive to the PlayStation brand. But as time goes by, things do indeed change, and so do the initiatives of corporations.

While they won’t appear day-and-date, Sony has revealed that PlayStation-exclusive games will indeed be making jumps to the PC. We’ve seen that in action, with the likes of the Spider-Man games and God of War.

But now you can add one more big title to that lineup, with aforementioned cartoony duo’s latest adventure.

Here’s the PS5’s Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, as it will look on the PC:

As you can see there, Ratchet and his lil’ mechanical buddy are looking terrific, as the series makes its very first appearance on the PC. The game will have an unlocked frame rate, as well as ray-traced reflections and shadows, if your machine can partake. The port will come out of Nixxes Software, which was responsible for bringing the Spidey games over to the platform, as well as a whole bunch more big-name titles.

Also as you can see in the Tweet above, you won’t have to wait long to play Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It’s set to hit the PC (digitally, natch’) on July 26th. The Steam page is up right now, if you’d like to go have a peek.
