Fresh out of testing and ready for a little Early Access availability, 1C Game Studios’ free-to-play, tactical, team-based shooter Caliber is coming for PC.
Get tactical marines
If the name sounds familiar, Caliber has actually been around for a little while. The game was launched with an open beta back in 2019, and has been building on player feedback since then. It’s uh, been a lot of feedback too, since the game has some 2.3 million registered users already.
Here’s the first look at what’ll be playable, with the Early Access version of Caliber:
An online multiplayer third-person shooter, Caliber’s gameplay is based on tactical cooperation between players, who each take on one of four roles represented by dozens of operators. Offering PVP and PVE, the key to victory in Caliber is a proper assessment of the situation at hand and coordinated teamwork among all players.
1C Game Studios press release
1C’s Caliber might be free-to-play, but it’s certainly looking like a premium experience. The game will feature 68 playable “operators” from 17 actual special forces units, from 12 countries.
Players will be able to field a fast and deadly Assault specialist, a long range Marksman, a combat Medic, and a Support operator, who’ll be armed to the teeth and stocked with “lots of HP and armor”. Oh hi tank.
Wishlisting is open right now via Steam, with the game arriving on PC some time in the second quarter of this year (2023).
