Turn-based RPG Sea of Stars coming this August, demo out now

One of the stars of yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, the hotly-anticipated RPG Sea of Stars finally has a release date, as well as a playable demo.

Just as the year turns over into its hottest month (for the Northern Hemisphere anyway), Nintendo Switch fans will finally be able to play one of the biggest RPG’s of 2023. Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars finally has a release date, and it’s set to close out the summer.

If you haven’t been following the game’s progress, that’s a good thing, as it’s looking like another gem of a turn-based RPG. And particularly for those remember the 16bit age of the art form, it certainly looks like one to mark on the old calendar.

Sea of Stars follows the story of two Children of the Solstice, joining players with youths Valere and Zale as they face their fated duty of becoming Solstice Warriors. By joining their Sun and Moon powers to cast powerful Eclipse Magic, this duo wields the lone power capable of fighting the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer. Set to a stunning soundtrack including original works by legendary composer Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger) who joins Sabotage Studio’s composer Eric W. Brown, Sea of Stars is poised as one of the year’s absolute must-play games.

Along with the above, Nintendo also took the wraps off of a fresh demo for the game. That’s actually out right now, and gives players about an hour of time in the game’s world.
