Spawn set to take over Image Comics’ covers this December

Somehow Spawn is 30 years old, and to celebrate the now-iconic supernatural hero, Image Comics will be serving up a huge slate of covers.

How in the heck did this happen? Though it might seem impossible for those who remember seeing Spawn #1 on the racks when it first launched, Todd McFarlane’s demonic-powered superhero has indeed collected three decades of un-life.

Originally landing in stores in May of 1992, Spawn was a part of the original Image Comics superhero universe. Of course, since then a few titles and creators have left that fold, and the collection of books that Image calls its own have expanded to include a myriad of different genres and fictional worlds. But still, Spawn remains, celebrating a record breaking run of over 300 issues.

To celebrate that, Image will be producing a collection of covers, each one featuring old Al Simmons himself. Granted, this is a few months off, but they’re still plenty cool.

In addition to all of the above, you can also look for a bunch of DC Comics variants as well. Those will be a part of the upcoming, and long-awaited new Batman/Spawn crossover. So this shaping up to be quite the winter for fans.

As for the Image stuff though, watch for all of it to arrive next month, December 2022.
