Swallowed into the digital realm during the pandemic, PAX West is back here in 2022. And if you thought it’d be a lighter show, you were wrong.
Full force
Yes, PAX is back. And man is PAX West looking to be a full convention once again, loaded with big time gaming companies and “tech giants”. Of course, that’s nothing new to the PAX faithful.
The con is always a hotbed of cool happenings, but I think it’s notable that the event is not just dipping its toe into the ‘in-person’ waters, post-pandemic. Much like the just-wrapped SDCC, PAX is a full show and toting some massive names into the Seattle Convention Center this September.
Publishers along the lines of Nintendo, Sega, Bandai Namco, MiHoYo, tinyBuild, Devolver Digital, and Yacht Club Games will all be in attendance along with many others. That’s going to be a list that includes indie studios too, like Finji, Apogee Entertainment, Koch Media, Brace Yourselves Games, Raw Fury, Studio Wildcard, Ysbryd Games, and PM Studios. On the development side, houses scheduled for the con include “Larian Studios, Tripwire Interactive, Thunderful Games, and more”.
Want more? How about tech companies like Intel, AMD, ASUS, and AORUS GIGABYTE, and AAA? Yeah, there’s gonna be a lot to see and do. But just because the show is a go once more, don’t assume that the pandemic is completely in the rearview.
PAX reminds fans and attendees that certain measures will be enforced.
For the safety of every participant, including attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff, PAX West 2022 will require all attendees to show proof of vaccination and attendees must wear face coverings at all times. For more information, please see the official health and safety guidelines.
