Dark Horse’s original Halo book to get reissue

The original Halo graphic novel, the one that brought the license into the comic book multiverse, is getting a paperback reissue this summer.

Cue the chorus

It’s been a while since this one’s seen publication. Believe it or not, it’s been over a decade since Halo made landfall in the comics realm. That, of course, came via Dark Horse Comics, and was a pretty great intro.

Arriving in the form of an anthology edition, Halo’s first foray onto the printed page served up work from top flight talent. Work from the likes of Jay Faerber, Simon Bisley, Ed Lee, and even Moebius were included. And now you’l get another crack at adding this hard-to-find volume to your Halo collection.

Here’s the official rundown:

This book includes four classic Halo stories that expand the deep lore of the Halo universe. Artist Simon Bisley and writer Lee Hammock give us the central tale titled “The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor.” Award-winning mangaka Tsutomu Nihei writes and draws a tale of Sgt. Johnson’s epic escape in “Breaking Quarantine”. Ed Lee, Andrew Robinson, and Jay Faerber team up on a story of technology in the 26th century with “Armor Testing.” Finally, Brett Lewis and the world-renowned artist Jean “Moebius” Giraud round out this one-of-a-kind Halo experience with a story that showcases humanity’s plight against the Covenant from a unique civilian perspective in “Second Sunrise Over New Mombasa.”

Ready to go back to where it all began? The Halo Graphic Novel is expected to return to stores on August 11th, 2021. The paperback edition will be priced in at just $19.99 USD, and is pre-orderable from Amazon and Barnes & Noble, or via your local comic shop or bookstore.
