King of Fighters XV to be revealed in January with Samurai Showdown Season 3

A pair of big announcements today, with SNK set to reveal the 15th title in the King of Fighters series along with Season 3 of Samurai Showdown.

The king is back

It’s time once again for another installment of King of Fighters. Publisher SNK is bringing back the fan-favorite fighting game, presumably for the new generation. The announcement came out of SNK’s YouTube channel, in a video hosted by Producer Yasuyuki Oda and Director Eisuke Ogura.

The pair discussed the title briefly, calling it the “most ambitious” game in the set to date. Well that, and that they’re both “really proud” of the game, but that’s to be expected.

As you’ll notice there too, there’s a bit of Samurai Showdown news as well. That comes in the form of the reveal for Season 3 of content for that game. The third season pass will be revealed simultaneously with KoFXV, and will include a character from The Last Blade. If you don’t know what that is, it’s another of SNK’s classic titles.
