Nintendo’s got an IndieWorld showcase coming up tomorrow

A fresh batch of looks at indie games heading to Nintendo’s Switch is on the way thanks to tomorrow’s Direct. It’s the latest in the IndieWorld Showcase series.

I still call ’em Nindies

It’s funny, I hated “Nindies” when that was the name, and now that it’s not it’s what I call the Switch’s indie games. My own mental hangups aside though, Nintendo fans are about to get some new looks at exactly that, indie games.

This is the second in what’s become a sub-series of Nintendo Direct presentations. The big difference of course, as the name implies, is that it focuses on independently developed games instead of major triple-A titles.

We had the first in the set back in March, and number two will be landing online tomorrow. So what will Nintendo talk up? Well, who knows! In typical Nintendo fashion, they’ve shared absolutely nothing about what will actually be spotlighted. So honestly, your guess is as good as ours.

If the company’s past Direct’s are anything to go by though, we’ll likely get a mix of games that are hitting soon, and those that are further out. Since this IndieWorld is coming up at the close fo the summer too, I’d expect to see a few holiday announcements.

The show begins tomorrow, Tuesday August 18the. It’ll kick off at 9am pacific time, and run about 20 minutes. Again though, don’t expect word on the Super Mario 3D World remaster or anything. This one’s all Nindie… uh, indie.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
