Here’s the legendary Crysis running on Switch

The maniacs at Saber Interactive have done it. Crytek’s iconic PC FPS is coming to the Nintendo Switch. And as you’ll see, it’s looking pretty great.

So can it run Crysis?

Yeah, the answer to that is ‘yes’. The Nintendo Switch can indeed run Crysis, one of the most legendary PC resource-hogs of all time. Of course, that’s no longer the case for computer gamers, but just to see it running on a Nintendo Switch is incredible.

The game has been remastered and is being brought back for consoles courtesy of developer Saber Interactive. You might recognize that name from the Switch port of The Witcher III. If you do recognize the name, then you know that they know their stuff, as the Switch version of The Witcher III was a minor miracle.

As for Crysis, it’s running in 720p, at 30fps, and again it’s looking mighty good doing it.

Here are some of the highlights:

Take a look at the game’s signature groundbreaking visuals, destructible open sandbox world, and adaptive gameplay on a brand-new platform. Vegetation bending, upgraded textures, depth of field and motion blur, enhanced dynamic lighting, global illumination (SVOGI), gyro aiming, and even sharks (…sharks?) are all packed into Crytek’s debut game on Switch.

Crisis press release

So when do you finally get to play Crysis on Switch? Actually, this week. Crisis Remastered lands on Nintendo’s console on the 23rd. It’ll run you $19.99 USD.
