Debuting today is DC Comics’ new digital magazine. DC Connect will hit monthly, delivering comic book news, interviews, and lots more.
Getting connected
Things have been rumbling in the comic book universe as of late. After a period of inactivity thanks to the coronavirus pandemic shutting down stores, we might be in the biggest era of change for comics in a good long time.
If you haven’t been following it, most of that change has to do with DC. Not only has the publisher been making waves in the movie-space (with Zach Snyder’s Justice League), but they’ve been seriously shaking up the good old comics rack as well.
DC has moved away from Diamond, the distributor that formerly had a strangle hold on comics shops. With their own shipper, they’ve also made a day all for themselves, as DC comic books now ship on Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays.
And now they’re making another move with DC Connect. Expanding on the previous DC Previews title, DC Connect appears to be a kind of cross between Diamond’s catalog and the old Wizard magazine.
The publisher says that Connect will be a monthly title, which will include solicits from DC, as to new books, collectibles, etc. But that’s not all. The book will also include “expanded content, featuring talent interviews, preview pages from upcoming stories, behind-the-scenes looks at projects in development, multimedia content, and more!”
All in all, it sounds pretty cool, and like something that DC fans won’t want to miss. The free download of the premier issue is live right now, and can be had right here on the official DC Comics page.
