Octopath Traveler comes to Stadia

One of the biggest Switch-exclusive RPGs, Octopath Traveler is making the jump from Nintendo’s console (and PC) to Google’s Stadia.

Traveling Traveler

Google Stadia has been on a roll as of late, with its free period and now the announcement of a free ongoing tier. As a result, the multi-platform streaming game service has pushed its user base up over the million mark for the first time since it launched last fall. Now the service is adding another hit game to its catalog with Square Enix’ Octopath Traveler.

A top notch JRPG that hit the Switch and PC last year, Octopath is a throwback to the 16bit age of RPGs. But while that might make it sound like a ‘retro’ game, it’s most definitely not.

Square Enix’ epic is graphically gorgeous, and offers eight different paths to play through (hence the name). Check it out in action below.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER on Stadia brings to life the game’s unique HD-2D visuals, blending striking 2D character designs with a beautiful 3D world. The game allows players to choose from one of eight distinct characters, each with their own tales to enjoy, from journeys of self-discovery to quests for revenge. Travelers will start their adventure in a different land within the enchanting yet perilous continent of Orsterra, allowing players to steer their own journey depending on whom they choose.

In addition to the Stadia version, which is ready to buy right now, Octopath Traveler is also getting a little more accessible. Korean language options are being added, and will be available for all versions of the game this summer.
