It’s a surprisingly good month for PlayStation Plus this month, which sees the arrival of both Sonic Forces and Shadow of the Colossus as freebies.
It’s like playing the movie!
Okay, no it’s not. Sonic Forces might be as far from the Sonic the Hedgehog movie as the game series gets. And yes, I realize that’s saying a lot. Nevertheless, Forces casts players as two versions of the Blue Blur, and as a custom created character.
While you might not be 100% in line with that idea, our own Reviews Editor Erich has been playing the game on the Switch lately, and actually likes it. And if it’s free, well why not give it a try?
As for Shadow of the Colossus, that’s one of those games that you either love… or don’t love. A remaster of a PS3 game, the PS4’s Shadow plays exactly the same as the last-gen masterpiece (as some would call it).
So if you missed it the first time around, or the second, then this one might be ripe for a play through.
Shadow of the Colossus
Tales speak of an ancient realm where Colossi roam the majestic landscape. Bound to the land, these creatures hold a key to a mystical power of revival — a power you must obtain to bring a loved one back to life. Shadow of the Colossus is a breathtaking journey through ancient lands to seek out gigantic beasts. Armed with only a sword and a bow, explore the spacious lands and unearth each Colossus, presenting a unique challenge to test your wits, determination, and skill.

As with everything in the PS+ ‘free game’ system, you’ll only have a limited time to download of both of the above. Of course, once you have them in your account, you have them for as long as your PS+ subscription is valid.
The two games hit today, March 3rd, and will be available till April the 6th, when a new set of titles are up for grabs.
