New lineup of X-Men Milestone books coming up

Here’s your chance (once again) to catch up on some of the best X-Men stories of all time. Marvel Comics has just announced the X-Men Milestone series.

The current state of the X-Men sub-universe within the Marvel U might be… a bit up for debate. It’s been hit and miss since the dawn of the Blue and Gold books. Now that Uncanny is back though, there’s a bit of hope. And honestly, it’s good to see Marvel’s merry mutants back in any form.

For too long they were almost an afterthought really. Yep, once the biggest and most popular characters in the Marvel U, the X-Men were almost non-existent. I’m not going to get into the (supposed) reasons for that (Google it), but now they’re back. There’s even a big crossover event hitting in February with Age of X-Man.

Botton line – what’s happening right now may or may not be to your taste as a fan. Chances are though, this new series of graphic novels will be. Simply put, these are classics. Marvel’s just announced new line of X-Men graphic novels all feature triple-A stories.

The Dark Phoenix Saga, Mutant Massacre, and Fall of the Mutants are the initial wave. Release dates? Actually there weren’t any in the press release, but I’d expect them soon. Oh, and then expect more, as Marvel also says that additional volumes are on the way.
