Maxi brings his ‘chucks to Soul Calibur VI’s stage of history

Prefer your fighters wielding blunt instruments to blades? Longtime Soul Calibur combatant Maxi makes his nunchuck swinging return for the game’s sixth outing.

Master of the whirling nunchaku

Fans of lighting fast nunchaku action will surely be excited to learn that Maxi will be joining the fray in SOULCALIBUR VI. As a franchise regular, Maxi has been featured in virtually every chapter of the SOULCALIBUR saga, leaving countless defeated foes in his wake. With Maxi’s fluid, powerful, and deadly fighting style, players have another weapon to wield as they return to the stage of history in SOULCALIBUR VI.

Always a crowd pleaser, it’s good to see Maxi back. He’s a bit unique in the Bandai Namco’s fighting game series in that he doesn’t use a bladed weapon. Though if memory serves, you can upgrade his chucks to actually house blades, so your mileage may vary.

One thing’s for sure though, he’s fast. I remember playing past installments of Soul Calibur and zipping around the stage with Maxi. If speed is your thing, then you might want to have a look at this particular martial artist.

That’s something you can do, by the way, when Soul Calibur VI hits consoles and the PC… at some point. We still don’t have a release date for the game, though Bandai Namco is still saying launch will be sometime this year.
