Love Insomniac’s dynamic, space-faring, platform-jumping duo of Ratchet & Clank? Then you might be interested in the newest art book from Dark Horse.
A look back at a now classic series
It’s hard to fathom, but Ratchet & Clank is a classic gaming series. It still feels like a newer property to me, but it’s been around since 2002, when the original launched for the PS2. That’s 15 years ago. Yeah, let that sink in for a second.
In that decade and a half, there’ve been a few sequels, and most recently a reboot for the PS4. As you might imagine, there pretty much has to be enough material there to make into a solid art book. Well, that’s what Dark Horse is hoping anyway.
The publisher’s latest art book in a series of excellent volumes is set to be The Art of Ratchet & Clank. And according to Dark Horse, it’s going to be Quark-tastic.
“It’s amazing that Ratchet & Clank is turning 15,” said Ted Price, CEO and Founder of Insomniac Games. “The whole team here has put a lot of love into the series. We’re thrilled to be able to share this collection of artwork with Ratchet & Clank’s loyal fans.”
A total of 11 games-worth of content will be included in this one, as fans will get concept art and commentary aplenty. And since this is Dark Horse, it’s sure to all be packaged in a quality book that should look very nice indeed on the coffee table or the old shelf.
Still a ways off, watch for The Art of Ratchet & Clank to hit store shelves this coming February the 21st.
