IDW preps sequel to the most beautifully Horror-able coloring book ever

Alan Robert’s The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium is on the way from IDW.

Horrible, yet beautiful

Coloring books for adults, which this definitely is, are getting to be quite the trend. There are a bunch out there catering to different genres, though horror is most definitely under represented. Actually, I can’t think of another tome that offers something like this one does.

Not just a coloring book, The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium is kind of a game too. As you color your way through the book, you’re tasked with locating ingredients for a spell. It’s one that the title character is trying trick colorists into casting.

And there’s a lot of coloring to do here. With 80 pages of inked work to shade, budding artists will find “increasingly terrifying scenes and patterns” throughout. Now you might think that coloring in all that blood and gore will ooze it  onto the other side of the page.

That not too likely though, according to the publisher. IDW says that the pages here will be made of “high quality paper”. I assume that means they’re nice and thick, perfect for stopping seepage.

Blood-born excitement for an anticipated sequel

“I was completely blown away by the overwhelming response to the first book,” Robert says, “the amazing color work fans have been posting online inspired me to get crackin’ on volume two right away! And this time, Ghouliana’s got even more tricks up her sleeve.”

“Alan gave colorists around the world the creeps with his coloring book debut,” says IDW VP of New Product Development, Jerry Bennington. “If you’re not still shaking from the first go round, there’s more gruesome images from his brain splattered onto the page for fans to color until their hair stands on end!”

Framed by that awesome red-foil cover art, you’ll be able to find Alan Robert’s The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium on the shelves this September. Perfect for a little pre-Halloween horror.
